Poetryदिल-ए-ग़म-ज़दा जज़्बात-निगारी है उन एहसासों की जो आज़ार-तलब दिल-फ़रोशों के सीने में ता-उम्र साँस लेते हैं। यह एक सफ़र भी है जो मुदाम ही रंजज़ा रहता है। दिल-फ़रेब इसे मोहब्बत का नाम देंगे, दग़ाबाज़ इसे अपने बदसूरत किरदार का आईना समझेंगे और मरीज़-ए-इश्क़ इसे अपने असरार-ए-त’अल्लुक़ का तमाशा मानेंगे। हर सूरत में यह किताब पढ़ने वालों की रंजूरी को ज़बान देने की क़ुव्वत रखती है। इसे उस हर शख़्स को पढ़ना चाहिए जिसे उर्दू ज़बाँ की बारीकियों और ख़ासियत से वाक़िफ़ होना है, और इश्क़-बाज़ाँ की नाकामी में शामिल हो उन्हें तशफ़्फ़ी देना है कि उनसे इत्तिफ़ाक़ रखने वालों की कमी नहीं है।
